Legal Counsel, Advocate (and Commissioner of Oaths) of the High Court of Kenya, with years of extensive banking and negotiation experience, most of which were focused on providing in-house legal advisory services, litigation support, structuring and negotiation of corporate finance transactions, bank finance appraisals, debt recovery processes, drafting & negotiation of contractual commercial agreements, research and advising on banking and finance matters and managing in-house legal function.
Javier attained Bachelors of Laws (LL.B) from Moi University, Eldoret; Kenya in 2005 and a Post Graduate diploma in Law at the Kenya School of Law in 2007. He was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya back in 2009 while working for KCB Kenya Limited as a graduate trainee. In 2016 he was appointed as an assistant Legal Manager; Diamond trust Bank Kenya Limited where he worked till 2018 when he left and founded Javier & Associates, where he is the Managing Partner.
Javier has been involved in various transactions including overseeing the scrutiny of securities on takeover transactions by leading banks, reviewing training manuals and overseeing the training of staff for awareness of legal risk in the various banks he has worked with, acted as a liaison between the various government and monitoring institutions to ensure compliance with laws, rules and guidelines, handled various contract negotiations with various stakeholders, prepared for and got involved in various litigation matters with a bias in management of debt recovery portfolios, whilst working for the various employers.
Currently Javier is the Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Law Society of Kenya, and a founder member and Managing partner of the firm.
